Janet Wertman's upcoming 'The Path to Somerset'

Janet Wertman, a fellow Tudorphile and author will be releasing her second book in 'The Seymour Saga' trilogy later this August.

Entitled The Path to Somerset, it looks to be a worthy sequel to Janet's earlier novel, the excellent Jane the Quene, which  I enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Queen Bette

Actress Bette Davis (1908-1989) was evidently fond of Queen Elizabeth I as seen in this Christmas season photo taken in her Hollywood home in the early 1980's. Framed portraits of Elizabeth can be seen on the left.

Photo taken from the collection of Bette Davis' former personal assistant Kathryn Sermak

Davis played Elizabeth I twice on screen: 'The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex' (1939) and 'The Virgin Queen' (1955).
